Oral ulcers, hearing loss, and nerve entrapment are common manifestations of rheumatic diseases. They can also be present in other non-rheumatic diseases as well. This session reviews different causes of these manifestations, discusses salient features that help to distinguish their etiologies, and appraises the management of those that are related to rheumatology.

Learning Objectives:

  • Review etiologies of oral ulcers, compare features of oral ulcers that distinguish their etiologies, and discuss management of difficult-to-treat oral ulcers related to rheumatic diseases
  • Review the most common nerve entrapment syndromes and highlight their assessment and management
  • Review common and rare causes of autoimmune hearing loss, and discuss the use of immunomodulator in their management
