This session will present important recent findings in the pathophysiology of myopathies. Contributions of genetic risk, autoantibodies, and gene expression will be highlighted especially as they impact disease and management.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe the distinct immune hallmarks of dermatomyositis revealed by single cell profiling
  • Discuss novel insights into recently discovered genetic risk factor for myosotis, how they relate to disease etiology, pathogenesis and underlying biological pathways
