This session will feature: the state of the current pediatric rheumatology workforce, including workforce data, geographic distribution, and impact of clinical FTE; barriers to recruitment and retention, including length of fellowship, student debt, low salary, and lack of awareness; and novel ideas for pediatric rheumatology training options, including exploring a two-year fellowship, education of primary pediatricians to provide special training, and successfully building a pipeline.
