For the practicing clinician caring for a patient with systemic vasculitis, evidence-based medicine only takes you so far. Clinical trials often fail to address specific scenarios encountered by rheumatologists delivering clinical care. In this session, three expert clinicians will discuss how they manage patients with specific forms of systemic vasculitis and demonstrate how they bridge the gap between clinical trials and clinical practice. For each disease, the discussants will provide concrete recommendations for remission induction and remission maintenance strategies, guidance regarding monitoring patients, and key insights into the management of common scenarios not directly addressed by clinical trials.
