Using his 45 years of being a rheumatology patient and 22+ years as a rheumatology researcher, Dr. Michaud will provide an overview of patient experiences over time and region with context for rheumatology’s current care model. A variety of disease activity measures will be reviewed as well as how the patient experience has changed these measures to current care conditions. Dr. Michaud will also provide ideas and suggestions for future care with emphasis on integration of various systems and personal devices.

  • Understand brief history of rheumatologic patient care through personal experiences and literature.
  • Review rheumatic disease activity measure development and implementation with emphasis on patient reported outcomes.
  • Consider different approaches being explored around the globe often due to varying reimbursement systems and passion by providers.
