Health policy is central to access to rheumatology clinical care, education and training, and research. This session will highlight the impact health policy can have on patient care. Through the presentations, this session will demonstrate different ways the policy can act as a barrier or facilitator to optimal care, including the impact of laws on reproductive rights, the power of advocacy to improve health care access at a national level, and the international impact of improving the WHO Essential Medicines list to include more appropriate medication to treat rheumatic diseases in children.
