Dr. Makris is a clinical investigator at the North Texas Health Care System and an Associate Professor of Internal Medicine in the Division of Rheumatic Diseases at UT Southwestern Medical Center. As a clinically trained rheumatologist, with a research focus on aging, she investigates important questions that bridge the fields of rheumatology and geriatrics. Her research, funded by the VA, PCORI, and NIH focuses on improving outcomes that are most important to older adults with MSK pain.
