Wendy Ramey received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Kentucky, College of Pharmacy in 1990. She has experience in multiple practice settings, including hospital, retail, and home infusion, before becoming a clinic-based specialty pharmacist at University of Kentucky in the Rheumatology Program. She also provides services at University of Kentucky Bone and Mineral Metabolism. She received her Specialty Pharmacist Certification in October 2016.
Wendy specializes in the treatment of autoimmune inflammatory conditions, providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients at the UK HealthCare Rheumatology Clinic. She works directly with clinic providers and staff to secure prior authorizations, patient education and injection administration training, and side effect management. Wendy also precepts pharmacy students interested in ambulatory care and provides informational lectures at the UK College of Pharmacy about the use of Specialty Medications in inflammatory conditions.
Personal Statement
I have a special interest in rheumatoid arthritis due to my own diagnosed RA in 2013. I feel a calling to help other patients to find treatment regimens that will improve their quality of life by controlling the symptoms and side effects of their autoimmune diseases.
