Robert Terkeltaub, M.D. is Professor of Medicine Emeritus at the University of California San Diego, in La Jolla, California. After earning his medical degree from McGill University in Montreal, Canada, Dr. Terkeltaub completed postdoctoral research training in Immunopathology at The Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, CA. His research concentrates on inflammation, metabolism, and skeletal biology and translational interfaces between them. Among his achievements, Dr. Terkeltaub has authored or coauthored over 180 original journal articles and 100 invited articles and book chapters, and is Editor of 2 testbooks in Gout and Crystal Arthropathy. He was the sixth Morris Ziff Distinguished Lecturer in Rheumatology at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, and first Malawista Memorial Lecturer at the ACR. Dr. Terkeltaub has served as co-Editor and Review Articles Editor of Arthritis and Rheumatology, and serves on multiple editorial boards and scientific advisory committees.
