Dr. Demirkaya joined the Department of Paediatrics and Division of Paediatric Rheumatology at the Children's Hospital and Western in 2017. Dr. Demirkaya is a Scientist at the Child Health Research Institute, Associate Scientist at the Lawson Health Research Institute and a Professor at Western University. His research interests include autoinflammatory diseases (FMF, HIDS, TRAPS, CINCA/NOMID PFAPA, and Behcet) and their genetic background, vasculitis and outcome in rheumatic diseases in children. Dr. Demirkaya currently serve as a president elect of International Society of Systemic Autoinflammatory Diseases (ISSAID).
