Annelle B. Reed graduated from Samford University in 1970 with a BA in Psychology/Biology and from Emory University in 1975 with a BSN, the worked as an RN in PICU at Children’s of Alabama for several years. In 1978, she received her MSN at UAB School of Nursing and became a pediatric nursing instructor; she was promoted to Assistant Professor. Later she worked as clinical faculty for several BSN and MSN programs. She has been a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner since 1998 and employed in the UAB Division of Pediatric Rheumatology for the last 16 years at Children’s of Alabama.
ARP History
Annelle has been an active member of ARP since 2007 serving on the ACR Governmental Affairs Committee, the ARP Executive Committee (two years), the ACR Pediatric Special Committee, and on the PRYSM planning committee; currently serving on the ARP Practice Committee. She has also reviewed abstracts for the ARP Education Committee, served as facilitator for roundtable discussions, and as a moderator for ACR presentations. She presented the topic, JIA at the ARP Clinic Focus Workshop in 2016 and edited “Fundamentals of Rheumatology” in 2017. In 2019, Annelle was presented with the ARP Distinguished Educator Award. In 2020, Annelle Co-presented "Skin Deep," Derm findings in Peds Rheumatology. At ACR in 2022, she will present "Pediatric Rheumatology: More than JIA."
