Dr. Montealegre is an Associate Research Physician within the Division of Clinical Research. Dr. Montealegre received her medical degree from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Bogotá, Colombia in 2001, and completed residency in pediatrics at Albert Einstein Medical Center in 2008. In 2011, she completed her clinical fellowship in pediatric rheumatology at Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital and Cleveland Clinic and received her M.S. in clinical research from Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Montealegre has an extensive background in the development, execution, and oversight of clinical trials in rare autoinflammatory diseases. She is currently the NIH site Principal Investigator on the SARS-CoV-2 and MIS-C Long-Term Outcome study.
