Shozo Ohtsuki, Ph.D. is a Research Associate at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science in Rochester, Minnesota. After earning his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Kyoto University in Japan, he pursued postdoctoral research in cell biology and immune checkpoint receptors at Stanford University. He met Dr. Cornelia M. Weyand while at Stanford and began his research career in her laboratory. His current research focuses on understanding cell-to-cell communication in autoimmune diseases, particularly autoimmune vasculitis. He studies how T cells, macrophages, and dendritic cells lose tolerance and induce and sustain autoimmune vasculitis.
