Sonia Presti is a research assistant in the Division of Rheumatology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Chemistry from Brandeis University where she studied noncanonical translation initiation mechanisms involving internal ribosome entry sites. Currently her research focuses on the differentiation of fibroblasts within synovial tissue of patients with arthritis. In the future she hopes to pursue a PhD program in molecular biology.
