Hubert van Hoogstraten is an M.D. (internal medicine) and Ph.D. with 20 years of experience in the pharma industry. He has worked on biologics in immune-mediated diseases, particularly in dermatology, gastroenterology, and rheumatology. Hubert is currently serving as a Sr. Global Medical Director in Neurology and Immunology at Sanofi Specialty Care, Cambridge, MA, USA. Hubert has played a critical role in designing, implementing, and completing the clinical development program for sarilumab. Upon his certification as a specialist in internal medicine, Hubert started his career in industry at Centocor in the Netherlands, followed by 4 years at the Schering Plough Research Institute/Merck Research Labs in the USA. Hubert has a Ph.D. in cholestatic liver disease from the Erasmus University Rotterdam and Erasmus Medical Centre, Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Hubert has been an author on more than 40 manuscripts in the field of immune mediated diseases.
