Dr. Ruban Dhaliwal is an adult endocrinologist and a physician scientist with a public health background. She is a consultant and research physician at Massachusetts General Hospital. She was the Director of Metabolic Bone Disease Center at the State University of New York Upstate Medical University for six years where she held appointments in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism and the Department of Public Health and Preventive Medicine. Prior to that, she was a research scholar in the New York State Empire Clinical Research Investigator Program at the Winthrop University Hospital where her research emphasis was the health of Black population. She is a passionate clinician with a focus on osteoporosis and rare bone disorders. She has a special research interest in the pathogenesis and management of osteoporosis and bone fragility in diabetes. She is well published in peer-review scientific journals. She has been the investigator for research projects funded by industry, NIH and non-profit organizations. She is active serving in various roles in national and regional organizations. She is the immediate Past President of the Great Lakes Society of Diabetes and Endocrinology. She is a member of the Endocrine Society’s Advocacy and Public Outreach Core Committee and chaired the Society’s policy initiative on advancing equity in endocrine research, treatment, and care.
