Daniel Clemente graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Alcalá (1995-2001). He is a specialist in Rheumatology, after completing his training at the Hospital Clínico San Carlos (Madrid, 2006) and in Pediatrics after completing his training at the Hospital Niño Jesús (Madrid, 2010). Since October 2010 he has been working in the Pediatric Rheumatology Unit of the Hospital Niño Jesús, with a special focus on juvenile idiopathic arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus and autoinflammatory syndromes.
Between September 2016 and September 2021 he was a lecturer in the Faculty of Health Sciences at the Centro Superior de Estudios Universitarios Lasalle, teaching the subjects “Medical-surgical Conditions” and “Public Health” for physiotherapy students. He obtained a PhD in Health Sciences from Camilo José Cela University (July 2018).
He is an active member of the Spanish Society of Rheumatology (SER), the Spanish Society of Paediatric Rheumatology (SERPE), EULAR (European Alliance of Associations for Rheumatology) and PRES (Paediatric Rheumatology European Society), participating in numerous studies and multicenter collaborative research projects promoted by different working groups of both societies. He has published numerous publications in journals and books related to childhood-onset rheumatic diseases.
