Avery Fortier is a senior at Vanderbilt University studying Molecular and Cellular Biology and Medicine, Health, and Society. She has been part of the Psoriatic Arthritis and Spondyloarthritis Laboratory at VUMC for three years, primarily working with electronic health records to develop better therapeutic strategies for psoriatic arthritis patients. Outside of this research, she is also involved in the VUMC Laboratory for Regeneration, Recovery, and Replacement, which focuses on creating a cross-circulation platform for livers and lungs. Avery is ultimately interested in joining the medical field as a physician and researcher.
