Dr. Garcia-Hernandez is a Research Assistant Professor in the Division of Allergy, Immunology, and Rheumatology in the Department of Medicine at the University of Rochester. She utilized her training in Molecular Biology and Immunology at the Center of Research and Advanced Studies (CINVESTAV) to define the mechanisms of evasion and protection in tumor immunity at the University of Southern California and the Trudeau Institute. She received additional training in cardiovascular biology at the Cardiovascular Research Institute at the University of Rochester. She is currently investigating the contribution of CD8 T cells in the development of Psoriasis (PsO) and Psoriatic arthritis (PsA) using a humanized mouse model. She is also currently elucidating the biological mechanisms involved in the transition of PsO to PsA.
