Ivan Lagunes, MD is an Orthopedic and Trauma Surgeon, trained in Mexico City and Madrid, Spain and currently Associate Medical Director in the Pharmacovigilance and Patient Safety Area, Immunology, at Abbvie. Dr. Lagunes started his pharma career 13 years ago in Mexico, combining it with his medical practice, before moving to the US in 2017. He has worked in rheumatology for 11 years in different disease states such as JIA, Spondyloarthritis, RA in Global Medical Affairs, and currently working in medical safety evaluation for Spondyloarthritis and other disease states such as Giant Cell Arteritis and Takayasu Artheritis. He has worked in several manuscripts and authored many posters and oral presentations at different rheumatology congresses and his research spans from orthopedic and traumatic pathologies of the shoulder, knee, and ankle (before joining the pharmaceutical industry) to interventional and non-interventional phase 4 studies in rheumatology within pharma industry.
