Dr Von Feldt is Emeritus Professor of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. She is currently Associate Editor of the Journal of Clinical Rheumatology and a volunteer at Community Volunteers in Medicine, West Chester, PA. Her academic career focused on clinical and educational research. Her clinical focus was in lupus; evaluating methods of identification and risk factors of premature atherosclerotic disease in lupus. Her educational research focus was in diagnostic error due to cognitive bias, and teaching methods to minimize cognitive bias. Dr Von Feldt is Past President of the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) (2015-2016). She served on the Board of Directors of the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) as well as the ABIM Council. She was Chair of the ABIM Subspecialty Board on Rheumatology from 2010-2014. She was Secretary General of the International League of Associations of Rheumatology (ILAR) from 2005-2007. She devoted significant time to Pan American League of Associations of Rheumatology (PANLAR), PANLAR treasurer from 2010-2014, and helped build a stronger PANLAR, weaving a stronger affiliation between ACR and PANLAR. She enjoys spending time with her family, especially her 9 grandchildren.
