Dr. Gutierrez obtained his Rheumatologist degree at Polytechnic University of Marche, (Ancona, Italy) and continued on to get her master’s degree in ultrasound in Rheumatology. He obtained also a PhD in Biological and Health Sciences.
He was chief of the division of rheumatic diseases of the National Rehabilitation Institute and currently is Managing Director of the C.E.R.M. (Center of Excellence in Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal Diseases) in Mexico City, Mexico.
Dr. Gutierrez is a full professor of Rheumatology and head of PANLAR ultrasound and capillaroscopy study groups. Is also a delegate of the EULAR ultrasound group and a senior member of the executive bureau of the European Federation of Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology.
He is a recognized speaker at national/international congresses and has more than 300 scientific articles published in journals with impact factors. He received 9 international awards in research in Rheumatology. His research areas are concentrated on the clinical application of ultrasound and capillaroscopy in the early diagnosis of rheumatic diseases
