Dr. DeBiasi is Chief of the Division of Peds ID at Children’s National, tenured Professor of Pediatrics and Microbiology, Immunology and Tropical Medicine at George Washington University School of Medicine, and Principal Investigator in the Center for Translational Research within Children’s Research Institute. She earned her MD at University of Virginia SOM, completed Pediatrics residency at Univ. CA Davis Medical Center, and ID fellowship in at Univ. of CO/Denver Children’s Hospital .Dr. DeBiasi treats normal and immunocompromised children hospitalized with severe infections, designated as a Top Doctor by Northern VA and Washingtonian Magazine. She is Co-Lead of the Emerging and Highly Contagious Infectious Disease Task Force (including Ebola and COVID-19) and the CNHS Congenital Infection Program (including Zika virus), interfacing with regional, national and international authorities in these roles. Her research expertise includes basic science as well as clinical/translational research focused on severe, congenital and emerging viral infections. Dr. DeBiasi has authored over 100 original peer-reviewed research, review articles, and book chapters.
