David Walsh is Professor of Rheumatology at the University of Nottingham, UK, and Consultant Rheumatologist at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He Directs Pain Centre Versus Arthritis, together with a multidisciplinary research team which includes preclinical neurosciences, psychology, neuroimaging, orthopaedics, genetics, epidemiology and evidence synthesis (see https://www.nottingham.ac.uk/paincentre/). He is Programme Director of the UKRI/Versus Arthritis Advanced Pain Discovery Platform which is bringing together data, resources and expertise from across the UK to develop step changes in the understanding of chronic pain across diverse diagnoses and populations. He leads the pain workstream of the NIHR/NOCRI Musculoskeletal Translational Research Collaboration.
