Interprofessional education (IPE) and interprofessional collaborative practice (IPCP) play an essential role in the future of healthcare as concepts strongly associated with patient safety, best practice, and quality care. This session will provide an overview of the IPEC Core Competencies for Interprofessional Collaborative Practice and will be a follow-up for the interprofessional fact sheet articles in The Rheumatologist. We will hear from a physical therapist, nurse practitioner, and social worker and discuss how the involvement of a healthcare team can improve outcomes for the patients of any rheumatology practice.
