Myositis is a rare disease, and the care of these patients can be challenging. This session will discuss various clinical observations helpful in the evaluation of patients with myositis and include practical tips for both diagnosis and management.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe practical tips in the use of autoantibodies, muscle enzymes, and ancillary testing for the diagnosis and evaluation of myositis.
  • Describe the key diagnostic tools to distinguish myositis from mimickers.
  • Discuss different therapeutic strategies for refractory disease and steroid-sparing regimens for comorbidities.
