In this session honoring Dr. Roy Altman, Dr. Tuhina Neogi will review some of the key contributions made by Dr. Altman, with a focus on some highlights from the first issues of Osteoarthritis and Cartilage, for which he was the first Editor-in-Chief, his work in developing osteoarthritis classification criteria and in osteoarthritis clinical trials, and his exploration of understanding pain in osteoarthritis. The session will conclude with examination of challenges and progress made in these areas, and current efforts in the field that can be seen as extensions of some of Dr. Altman’s earlier work.
