This session will review recent advances in diagnosis, management, and quality of care for patients with gout. These findings will be put into the context of the management of common comorbidities, in particular cardiovascular disease. In addition, the session will address the racial disparities and health inequities experienced by non-white patients in disease burden, care, and outcomes. It will also discuss how to implement culturally informed interventions designed to address drivers of social determinants of health and modifiable risk factors to reduce these disparities.
