Dr. Silverman is Professor of Medicine and Pathology, Mamdouha S. Bobst Professor of Internal Medicine, Associate Director of the Division of Rheumatology, and the Director of the Laboratory of B-cell Immunobiology at the NYU School of Medicine. After completing clinical training in Internal Medicine at UCSD, he was a fellow at The Scripps Research Institute for training in rheumatology and clinical immunology, with research training in molecular immunology, with a focus on the structural basis of immune recognition. Work in his lab is highly translational and he has authored over 180 publications. His group is focused on understanding autoimmune pathogenesis and the roles of the gut microbiome.
