Sheila T. Angeles-Han, M.D., M.Sc. is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center and the University of Cincinnati. Dr. Han is a pediatric rheumatologist who is dedicated to improving the visual outcomes and quality of life of children with inflammatory disease. Her research focuses on identifying genetic and biologic risk factors of uveitis development in children with juvenile idiopathic arthritis, discovering biomarkers of diagnosis and disease activity using ocular fluid, investigating ways to optimize early treatment to prevent blindness, and establishing standardized means of assessing uveitis outcomes which includes the only measure of vision-related quality of life and functioning for pediatric uveitis, the “Effects of Youngsters’ Eyesight on Quality of Life” (EYE-Q©).
