Cindy Boer, PhD

Cindy G. Boer she started her scientific career with a Bachelor and Masters degree in Biology at the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands. After which she started her PhD in osteoarthritis and genetics at the Erasmus Medical Center in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. During her PhD Cindy joined the Genetics of Osteoarthritis (GO) consortium effort and was the lead analysis of the landmark osteoarthritis genetics paper published in Cell from the genetics of osteoarthritis consortium. Next, to genetics, Cindy is also interested in the Gut microbiome, and her work on osteoarthritis pain and the gut microbiome has resulted in several OARSI young investigator awards. In 2020 Cindy received her PhD cum laude at the Erasmus Medical Center, Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Cindy now continues her work on osteoarthrits, genetics and the microbiome as a post doctoral researcher at the Erasmus MC. in the Netherlands.
