Dr Janine Lamb is a Reader (non-clinical) in Complex Human Genetics/ Genomics at The University of Manchester, UK.
Her research focuses on genetic risk factors, biomarkers and stratified medicine in idiopathic inflammatory myopathies, autism, myasthenia gravis, inherited retinal diseases and interstitial lung disease. Her research has been funded through grant income from several Research Council, charitable and commercial sources. Dr Lamb’s research has been enabled by membership and collaboration in several national and international interdisciplinary research consortia. Current steering or scientific committee roles include The Myositis Association Medical Advisory Board, Myositis UK Scientific Committee, Versus Arthritis UK College of Experts and co-chair of IMACS Myositis Genetics Scientific Interest Group (MYOGEN). Through her research, she has successfully mentored and supported the career development of junior staff and students.
Dr Lamb is programme director of the MSc Precision Medicine, and has played a role in leadership, management and delivery of teaching at undergraduate, postgraduate and continuous professional development level.
