Dr. Munroe is a Research Associate Member at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation. Following receipt of her MD and PhD in Immunology from Northwestern University, Dr. Munroe completed her postdoctoral training in the lab of Gail Bishop, PhD at the University of Iowa. Dr. Munroe's research focus is cellular activation and the alteration of immune mediator pathways in autoimmunity, with particular emphasis in SLE. Her studies focus on immune pathway dysregulation associated with SLE pathogenesis, clinical disease activity, and flare. A number of findings from these studies are being actively translated into possible diagnostic and prognostic tools for SLE disease management.
